five main symptoms of Alzheimer's disease

One in 10 American over age 65 live with Alzheimer's disease, and that number is  expected to rise in the next few decades. By 2050, 14 million Americans could living with the disease.


Given this alarming statistic, it is likely at some point some you know will be impacted, so you have to be observant for early signs of the disease, as the brain changes that cause the Alzheimer disease, it is hard to differentiate between normal aging and sign of the disease.
The early stages of AD can help patients and their families make plan for the future.


Be on the look out for these five symptoms :




1. Memory loss:

Alzheimer's disease is brain disease that cause slow decline in memory and thinking and reasoning skills, during the early stages you may notice that your loved one has started forget recently information, and become unable to complete tasks that used to be easy. While mild memory loss is normal part of aging, it may not be persistent or get worse over time. 

2. Behavioral changes:

Aside from memory, AD and other dementia can cause behavioral change, in some people poor judgment may be initial symptom, apathy (Lack in interst activity) and social withdrawal may be early sign of brain disease.

3. Language :

Word-finding difficult may be common symptom of normal aging and replacing word can happen because we are distracting with other things on our mind, had a bad night sleep, having a bad day and language changes.

4. Visuospatial difficulties :

The visual system has tow compunents
1- the capture of the light by lens, retain and optic nerve.
2- the interpretation of the light into meaningful information by the back part of the brain.

In some dementias the first notable symptom may be due the faulty ways the brain interpreting visual information. The symptoms of this dementias include difficult judging distances or manipulating items.

5. Personality changes :

As people age, they typically become set in their routine or upset by deviation from these patterns. However, people with dementia may experience more drastic personality changes, anxious, fearful, confused or depressed.
